Susan E. DeRose is a restaurateur and filmmaker based in Atlanta, Georgia. She is the President and co-founder of Liberty House Restaurant Corporation, which owns and operates several well-known restaurants in the Atlanta area, including Bones Restaurant, OK Cafe, and Blue Ridge Grill.

DeRose began her career in the restaurant industry in 1979 when she and her business partner, Richard Lewis, opened Bones Restaurant in Buckhead. Originally created as a casual place for friends to gather, the steakhouse quickly gained popularity and became a staple for business professionals and celebrities. It is known for its traditional menu, attentive service, and consistent quality. In 2025, Bones was named the South’s Best Steak House by Garden & Gun magazine.

Following the success of Bones, DeRose helped launch OK Cafe and Blue Ridge Grill. Each restaurant reflects a distinct style while maintaining high service standards. OK Cafe serves classic Southern comfort food in a lively setting, while Blue Ridge Grill offers a mountain-lodge-inspired fine dining experience.

In addition to her work in hospitality, DeRose wrote and directed the historical drama Charming the Hearts of Men, released in 2020. The film, starring Kelsey Grammer, explores social and political themes in the American South during the civil rights era.

DeRose grew up in a military family and lived in various locations, including Washington and Japan, before settling in Athens, Georgia. She is a graduate of Athens High School and attended Brenau College. Her work reflects a focus on discipline, tradition, and consistent quality.
