Robert Pfleghardt

Robert McLarty Pfleghardt is an American entrepreneur and government financial consultant. He is the founder and principal of Sage Consulting Group, a consulting firm based in Vienna, Virginia. Pfleghardt has over 25 years of experience in enterprise resource planning, audit readiness, and financial systems for federal agencies.

He began his career at Price Waterhouse, where he worked for ten years as an auditor and enterprise application consultant. After leaving Price Waterhouse, he joined a small consulting firm and helped expand it from two employees to nearly 20. In 1998, he started Sage Consulting Group to offer tailored financial solutions for government clients.

Under his leadership, Sage has worked with several U.S. Department of Defense agencies. The company has been involved in major implementations of the Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI), a program designed to standardize financial systems across military and defense branches. His work has supported agencies such as the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Department of Defense Education Activity, and Defense Human Resources Activity.

Pfleghardt is known for his hands-on management style. He often participates directly in project work, including troubleshooting system issues and reviewing compliance procedures. His firm has employed more than 120 professionals and generated approximately $75 million in revenue.

In addition to consulting, Pfleghardt has appeared as a featured extra in the Netflix film Rustin and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild. He is also active in community service and regularly supports local initiatives in Virginia, including nonprofit bike donation programs.
