About Michael Kadoe
Michael Kadoe is a New York City-based real estate developer, designer, and general contractor known for his work in sustainable and eco-friendly construction. He immigrated to the United States at age 28 with $200 and no professional contacts, building his career through self-directed skill development and entrepreneurial persistence.
After completing dental technician school in 1982, Kadoe pursued coursework in electrical systems and plumbing, developing a technical foundation that would later inform his approach to design and construction. In 1994, he launched a fashion clothing company from his basement, growing the operation to between 35 and 40 employees within a decade. His designs were carried by major U.S. retailers and distributed internationally through private label companies and catalogues. The company closed in 2004 following market disruption in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks.
Kadoe transitioned into real estate development in New York City in 2004. He has since renovated and developed multiple properties across Manhattan, including addresses on West 71st Street, Lexington Avenue, West 85th Street, West 82nd Street, West 122nd Street, and additional locations. His work emphasizes sustainable construction practices and environmentally responsible design.
Among his recognized projects is an eco-friendly home that earned a Gold Award from Good Housekeeping for being the greenest house in New York City. Kadoe operates independently as an owner, founder, designer, and general contractor, with a focus on blending aesthetic quality with environmental responsibility in urban development.
