About Michael Bloom

Michael Bloom is a registered nurse (RN) licensed in New York State. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and graduated summa cum laude in 2024. His clinical background includes experience in trauma intensive care, orthopedic and neurologic med/surg, psychiatric and mental health nursing, maternal-child health, and public health. He is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Bloom completed a nurse externship in the Multi-Trauma ICU at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he developed skills in trauma resuscitation and ICU nursing. He has worked with a variety of patient populations and is trained in the use of EPIC charting, ventilators, ECMO, CRRT, and MARS systems.

In addition to clinical training, Bloom worked as an undergraduate teaching assistant in anatomy and physiology. He also held customer service roles, including working as a barista, which strengthened his communication and multitasking abilities.

His approach to nursing emphasizes whole-person care, including attention to mental, emotional, and spiritual health. He also values cultural competence and language access, supported by his academic minor in Hispanic Studies.

Outside of nursing, Bloom has been involved in public health outreach. He helped train college students in the use of Narcan and participated in youth homelessness awareness efforts through Covenant House.

Bloom is currently based in New York City. He continues to share insights on healthcare, communication, and nursing through writing and mentorship, while remaining active in clinical and community settings.
