Matthew Brodacki is a cybersecurity leader and law enforcement professional serving as Captain of the Regional Technical Investigations Unit (TIU) in Southwestern Connecticut. His career spans over two decades, focusing on cybersecurity, digital forensics, and incident response. Brodacki holds dual master’s degrees in Public Administration and Digital Forensics from the University of New Haven. He is also POST-certified as a law enforcement instructor in technical investigations and has received federal deputization from the United States Secret Service.

In his role with the TIU, Brodacki oversees a team of technical investigators addressing cyber-related incidents, including network intrusions, financial crimes, and dark web cases. The unit handles over 500 cyber cases annually, serving a population of more than 1.1 million people. He led the development of a cybercrime lab in Southern Connecticut, in collaboration with local and federal agencies. This lab model is now recognized nationwide through the Secret Service.

Brodacki has provided cybersecurity consulting for healthcare organizations such as Tenet and Kindred, focusing on risk assessments, forensic investigations, and incident response protocols. His contributions to the public sector include teaching cybersecurity and forensic methodologies to law enforcement personnel, judges, and other key stakeholders. Brodacki remains involved in community-oriented initiatives, including his work with the Rowan Center, which supports victims of sexual assault, and the NAACP Fairfield County task force on law enforcement recruitment. His approach emphasizes continual learning and adapting to advancements in cybersecurity and public safety.
