About Lee Lorenzen
Lee Lorenzen is the Founder and CEO of Cluster Solutions, a company he established in 1989 to develop and commercialize clustered water technology. His work centers on water science, cellular hydration, and biomedical research, with a focus on how water molecules organized in structured groups may interact with biological systems.
Lorenzen began his career as a Graduate Instructor in Biology at Chapman College in early 1974, followed by a position as Research Associate in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of California, Irvine, from 1974 to 1976. He then worked as an independent biomedical consultant from 1976 through 1989. In 1985, his wife’s illness prompted him to investigate water’s role in cellular function, leading to the founding of Cluster Solutions and the development of patented technologies.
He holds two U.S. patents related to clustered water: Patent 5,711,950 and Patent 6,033,678. In 2011, Lorenzen was recognized by the Microsoft Alumni Foundation for research in AIDS and diabetes. His research has been conducted over 15 years in collaboration with doctors and researchers in Japan, where results have been published in nine books. More than 300,000 people in Japan consume clustered water solutions developed through his work.
Lorenzen earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley, and pursued graduate studies in Biology at California State University, Fullerton, and advanced graduate work at Chapman College under Hoang Van Duc, M.D. He is a member of the Faculty Alumni Association at Chapman College. Born January 10, 1950, he was raised in Northern California as one of eight children and developed an early interest in science and the natural world.

Lee Lorenzen founded Cluster Solutions in 1989 after his wife’s 1985 illness led him to research how water functions in the body at the cellular level. His work resulted in multiple patents, including U.S. Patents 5,711,950 and 6,033,678, focused on clustered water technology—water molecules organized in structured groups believed to better mimic the body’s natural hydration pathways.
Lee Lorenzen, Founder and CEO of Cluster Solutions, is calling for renewed attention to the role structured water can play in health and cellular function. With over 30 years of research and multiple U.S. patents in clustered water technology, Lorenzen was honored by the Microsoft Alumni Foundation in 2011 for his contributions to research involving AIDS and diabetes.
