About Jon A DiPietra

Jon A DiPietra is a New York–based real estate valuation executive with more than 25 years of experience in residential and commercial appraisal. He currently serves as Executive Vice President and cofounder of HT Appraisal, the valuation group of Horvath & Tremblay.

Born in New York City in 1975, DiPietra grew up in suburban New Jersey and later moved to upstate New York. He attended Shaker High School and earned a degree in finance from the University of Phoenix. Early in his career, he worked as an equity trader in New York City, gaining practical experience in capital markets and financial analysis.

In 2001, DiPietra transitioned into real estate appraisal, beginning with residential properties. By 2004, he expanded into commercial valuation, working on apartment, mixed-use, retail, industrial, office, and special-use assets. Over time, he appraised high-profile properties, including the New York Times Building and multiple towers at the World Trade Center. He holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute.

In 2007, he joined a major New York real estate services firm. In 2018, he became the leader of the firm’s New York City office. At its peak, he managed a team of 40 professionals and oversaw more than 5,000 appraisal reports annually, generating over $22 million in yearly revenue.

In 2024, DiPietra cofounded HT Appraisal. He focuses on building a national valuation practice and expanding coverage across major markets.
