About Howard Pauchnik

Howard Pauchnik is a retired educator and high school coach based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He spent his career working in secondary education, where he taught history and coached multiple sports.

Pauchnik grew up in Weirton, West Virginia. He graduated from Brooke High School in 1976. He later attended Fairmont State College, where he earned a bachelor degree of education in 1981. While in college, he was a member of the track team and competed as a hurdler.

After completing his education, Pauchnik began working in schools. He taught history and coached basketball at Steubenville Central High School. In this role, he combined classroom instruction with athletic leadership, working with students in both academic and competitive settings.

Pauchnik later moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. There, he continued teaching history and expanded his coaching responsibilities. He taught history and coached basketball and baseball at Mount St Mary’s High School. He also taught history and coached basketball and baseball at Putnam West High School.

Throughout his career, Pauchnik focused on structured instruction, routine preparation, and long-term student development. His work followed the academic calendar and athletic seasons typical of U.S. high schools.

Outside of his professional duties, Pauchnik has been an avid golfer since college. He competed in amateur golf tournaments held in Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Florida.

He is now retired. His career reflects long-term service in education and school athletics across multiple states.
