About Gabriela Gross Rivas

Gabriela Gross Rivas is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with over eight years of experience in accounting, finance, and business strategy. She is the Managing Director of Strategic Advisory and ESG Services at Hanson & Maxwell LLP, a national accounting and consulting firm based in New York City. In this role, she leads a team focused on sustainability reporting, diversity initiatives, and corporate financial strategy.

Gabriela holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Pace University, where she was also a varsity track and field athlete. Her professional work includes financial planning, reporting, regulatory compliance, and process improvement. She has led financial transformation projects that reduced close times and improved reporting accuracy. Her research on financial planning in retail was published in the Journal of Accounting and Finance in 2019.

Before her current role, she worked with major firms on budgeting, forecasting, and audit readiness. She is known for her expertise in ESG reporting, data-driven financial modeling, and stakeholder engagement. In 2020, she spoke at the National Retail Federation Conference on accounting strategies for the retail sector.

Gabriela is also the founder of two financial literacy initiatives: FutureFunds and Finance Forward: Youth Edition. These programs focus on improving financial knowledge among underserved youth across the United States.

Outside of her career, she is active in community service and education advocacy. She has volunteered with the American Cancer Society, United Way, and local financial literacy programs. She is also a long-distance runner and mentors young athletes.
