Saltarelli was born on May 27, 1986, in Montreal, Quebec, to Italian immigrant parents from Abruzzo. He developed an early interest in gardening while spending summers in his grandfather’s backyard in Saint-Léonard. He later studied Horticulture and Landscape Management at the Institut de technologie agroalimentaire du Québec, earning a Diploma of College Studies between 2003 and 2006. His training included soil science, native plant ecology, and sustainable irrigation systems.
He began his career as a landscape technician at Jardin Élégance Inc. from 2006 to 2009. He then worked as a design associate at Urban Eden Landscapes from 2009 to 2012, contributing to rooftop and courtyard projects in central Montreal. From 2012 to 2014, he served as a senior project coordinator at Verdure Montréal, overseeing high-end residential installations and managing contractor teams.
In 2014, he founded Saltarelli Outdoor Design. The firm specializes in climate-resilient planting, natural stone materials, and integrated lighting systems suited to Quebec’s weather conditions. Saltarelli has received the Quebec Landscape Design Excellence Award and has been featured in Canadian design publications. He is a member of the Association des paysagistes professionnels du Québec and an affiliate member of the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects.
