About Faiz Chowdhury
Faiz Chowdhury is the Founder and Vision Leader of Graphene Valley Corporation, a deep technology company based in Irvine, California, focused on advancing graphene as a platform technology across energy, water, food, and economic security applications.
Chowdhury was born in a rural village in Bangladesh and came to the United States as a teenager to pursue advanced education. He earned two bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, one in Electrical Engineering and one in Computer Science, and later completed a Certificate in Management and Leadership from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
He began his professional career at Intel Corporation in 1997. He subsequently left to pursue technology ventures aimed at addressing hunger, poverty, pollution, and disease. Beginning in 2009, he engaged with Nucleus Scientific Inc., where he focused on in-wheel motor technology for electric mobility applications.
Chowdhury later co-founded Quantum Age Corporation with MIT Professor Ian W. Hunter, serving as CEO. At Quantum Age Corporation, he led development across a range of areas including fast-charging solutions, net-negative solar vehicles, early cancer detection methods, fast-growing tree species for carbon sequestration, solid-state and graphene-enhanced battery technologies, and blockchain-based carbon trading and fintech platforms.
Graphene Valley Corporation is his current primary venture. It operates under a PL&I framework, standing for Profit, Loss, and Impact, in which impact is the primary measure of success. Chowdhury has publicly called for broader adoption of impact-driven metrics in the technology economy.
