Erin Waid

Dr. Erin Waid is an endodontist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of tooth pain, infections, and diseases affecting the inner dental pulp, nerves, and roots. She performs root canal treatments, retreatments, microsurgeries, and manages traumatic dental injuries. Her career path includes extensive experience in nursing, dermatology, general dentistry, and academic teaching before specializing in endodontics.

Waid earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Portland, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Family Nurse Practitioner training from Seattle University. She later completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine at Oregon Health and Science University, where she also earned a Certificate in Endodontics. During her time at OHSU, she received the Dean’s Research Scholarship for her research proposal on sex differences affecting caries preventive therapies in children with severe early childhood caries. She also received the Award in Oral Biology, recognizing aptitude, enthusiasm, and future promise in education and research.

Before specializing in endodontics, Waid worked as a Research Assistant at OHSU, a Clinical Research Coordinator and Family Nurse Practitioner at Baker Allergy, Asthma & Dermatology, and a Family Nurse Practitioner at Pearl MedSpa. She later served as a General Dentist and Assistant Professor at OHSU’s Russell Street Clinic, where she treated patients while teaching. She also worked as a General Dentist at Emergency Tooth Doctor in Hillsboro before transitioning to full-time endodontic practice.

Waid currently practices at Salem Endodontic Associates in Salem, Oregon and Multnomah Endodontics and Microsurgery in Portland, Oregon. She emphasizes preventive care, early intervention, and patient education to improve long-term oral health outcomes.
