About Dr. Andre Posner
Dr. Andre Posner is a board-certified family physician and hospitalist based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He currently works at Penn Medicine, where he serves as a teaching attending. He has over 20 years of clinical experience in both hospital and outpatient settings.
Posner was born in Dakar, Senegal, and raised in Merion Station, Pennsylvania. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science in 1990. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Frankford Hospital-Bucks County Campus in 2000.
Throughout his career, Posner has held medical roles at several hospitals, including Lower Bucks Hospital, Chester County Hospital, Bryn Mawr Hospital, and Naples Community Hospital. His responsibilities have included inpatient care, medical directorships, and education of resident physicians.
From 2009 to 2014, he served on the faculty of the Bryn Mawr Family Medicine Residency Program. He developed inpatient teaching programs and supervised residents in clinical and emergency care. He continues to teach and mentor at Penn Medicine.
Posner has received multiple awards for teaching, including the D. Stratton Woodruff Award for Excellence in Teaching and the 2022 Faculty Award for Resident Teaching at Lower Bucks Hospital.
He also serves as Medical Director at Greater Philadelphia Weight Loss and Family Medicine. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Osteopathic Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
