About Chuck Lantzman

Chuck Lantzman is the founder and president of Snow and Ice Management Company, Inc., based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He has worked in the snow and ice removal industry for over 30 years. His career began at age 18, when he took a job helping with snow removal through a high school elective course. Within a year, he purchased the business from his teacher and began managing his own commercial routes.

During the Blizzard of 1993, Lantzman operated with just a small team and over 30 client accounts. This event marked a key turning point, showing his ability to manage large operations under pressure. Over the next 15 years, he owned and operated other small businesses in landscaping and construction before returning full-time to snow services.

In 2008, Lantzman formally launched Snow and Ice Management Company. His company tripled in sales during the first year. In 2009, he expanded into bulk salt sales to meet customer demand. By 2019, the company was ranked #5 among the top 100 snow contractors in North America by Snow Magazine.

Lantzman is known for his practical knowledge, hands-on management, and strong work ethic. He continues to oversee operations while also contributing to community service. He volunteers weekly by delivering food to local families and supports local charitable efforts. His experience combines fieldwork, team leadership, and long-term growth in a highly seasonal and demanding industry. He is considered a knowledgeable figure in commercial snow and ice management throughout the northeastern United States.
