Bobby Acri is a cybersecurity analyst based in Winnetka, Illinois. He works at United Airlines, where his role focuses on threat detection and incident response, including investigating anomalies and helping improve defensive controls.

Acri was born on 17 May 1991 in Evanston, Illinois. He grew up on Chicago’s North Shore and attended Hubbard Woods Elementary School, Carleton W. Washburne School, and New Trier Township High School. During high school he took computer science electives and a networking-focused course and helped support audio-visual and technical setup for school events.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2013. His coursework included operating systems, networking, and applied cryptography-type classes. In 2012, he interned at NorthShore University HealthSystem as an IT support intern, working on end user services such as device imaging and account troubleshooting.

Acri began his career at CDW in Vernon Hills, Illinois, as a service desk analyst supporting enterprise clients (2013–2015). He later worked at Aon in Chicago as a systems administrator focused on identity and endpoint support (2015–2018). In 2018, he transitioned into cybersecurity at CME Group in Chicago as a security operations centre (SOC) analyst (2018–2021), where he monitored SIEM alerts, investigated anomalies, and supported incident response. He joined United Airlines in 2021 as a cybersecurity analyst and continues in that role.
