About Bentley Kyle Evans
Bentley Kyle Evans is an American television writer, producer, director, and actor. He is the founder and CEO of Bent Outta Shape, Inc., a television and film production company based in Los Angeles, California.
Evans began his entertainment career in the mid-1980s. In 1986, he worked as a production assistant on Hollywood Shuffle and had a small speaking role in the film, earning membership in the Screen Actors Guild. He made his acting debut in the 1990 film House Party.
He is best known as the showrunner of Martin (1992–1997) on FOX, and the co-creator of The Jamie Foxx Show (1996–2001) on The WB. He also created Love That Girl! (2010–2014) on TV One. In 1996, Evans co-wrote the feature film A Thin Line Between Love and Hate with Martin Lawrence.
Evans later created and directed Family Time, the first original scripted series on Bounce TV. He also developed In the Cut and Grown Folks for the network. His work expanded to streaming with Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! (Netflix, 2021), and Partners in Rhyme and Millennials on ALLBLK. In 2022, he co-executive produced Martin: The Reunion for BET+.
Evans is a native of Oakland, California, and was raised in the View Park-Windsor Hills area of Los Angeles. He graduated from Westchester High School in 1984. He is married to Valicia Evans and has two children.
