About Aileen Wisell
Aileen Wisell is a graphic designer based in Boston, Massachusetts. She is the founder of Wisell Creative, an independent studio where she focuses on branding, visual identity systems, and website design for clients in wellness, lifestyle, and small business sectors.
Wisell was born in Lexington, Massachusetts and spent much of her childhood in Portland and Cape Elizabeth, Maine. She developed an early interest in visual design through school projects, including yearbook layout work and theater materials. In 2009, she earned first place in the Maine Scholastic Art Awards for a digital poster titled Drift.
She attended the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, earning a BFA in Graphic Design in 2014. Her senior thesis focused on identity systems for independent travel brands. During college, she interned at Tank Design in Cambridge, contributing to social media graphics for Stonyfield Organic.
From 2015 to 2017, Wisell worked as a Junior Designer at Hatch Design Group in Boston, where she created menus, signage, and marketing collateral for regional restaurants. From 2017 to 2020, she was Lead Brand Designer at North Loop Creative, a boutique agency serving clients in education, wellness, and lifestyle.
In 2020, she established Wisell Creative. Her work includes logo development, brand guidelines, packaging, and website design using WordPress and Webflow. She also provides consulting on user experience and accessibility.
Wisell is involved in community design programs and volunteers with InnerCity Weightlifting, helping individuals create branding for new business ventures. She is a member of AIGA Boston and participates in local design groups.
